3 meals good

Well it seems to have gone well last night! Txts/email from both the other meal hosts last night said so, and it was good with us too. We had a really provocative conversation coming out of the passage in St Luke's Gospel where Jesus stands up in the synagogue and reads from the prophet Isaiah 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me / because he has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor / He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind / to let the oppressed go free / to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’ We were asking ourselves if we were given the opportunity to stand up and read out something that gives an idea of we are and who we think we are called to be, what might we consider saying. I liked Sam's idea of being called to recognise the sacred-ness of other people. [Here's a pic of us last night: Sam had left at this point l-r: Gail Michael Kate Ian Kim Andrea Jackie Katelyn]

Are your 3 groups staying the same, or are you going to be changing the makeup of who is in each group each time. Also, are your community meals each week or each month?

Thanks for your words of joy at my good news!

I continue to pray for Moot, MayBe and hOME each morning.

The idea at the moment is that if possible we stay at the same meal for at least the 7 week cycle we are in. The meals are every week, but we are going to have an all-together-community meal once a month. So we are experimenting... And thankyou for your praying for us and our buddies at Moot and hOME

I really liked the pictures of the three community meals on the mayBe website. It must feel very exciting to see mayBe develop along this route.... difficult in some ways (eg. not being all together and not eating with everyone), but also really positive - being able to eat and chat round the table again/being more intimate/a true sign of growth and easier to get people to volunteer to cook for fewer people!
