walking up into quiet

On Thursday I led a quiet day for our first year students from the Oxford Centre for Youth Ministry. We went to one of my favourite places for retreat, the Carmelite priory at Boars Hill. I had no car on the day, so I took the stuff up the night before, then walked from our house on the day. It takes just under an hour, and there's a great sense of going into quiet as you leave Oxford and the A34 behind and walk up the hill on footpaths through fields. Of course at the end of the day the reverse effect kicks in...
